Fries Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Preparation of Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Potatoes

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps achieve a crispier fry.

  3. 3

    Drying the Potatoes

Drain and pat the potato strips dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Frying the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Draining and Seasoning

Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

  7. 7

    Serving

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
