Chocolate Torte
Method
Preparation
- 1
Melt Chocolate and Butter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a double boiler, melt the bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 2
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- 3
Add Cocoa Powder
Sift in the cocoa powder and gently fold it into the mixture until just combined.
- 4
Bake the Torte
Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and pour the batter into it. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
