Preparation and Baking

Knead the Dough
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cherry pie filling, and vanilla extract until well combined. Set aside.
- 4
Roll Out the Dough
After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into squares or rectangles.
- 5
Fill the Pastry
Place a spoonful of the cherry cheese filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling to create a pocket and pinch to seal.
- 6
Bake the Danish
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Glaze and Serve
Once the Danishes are baked and cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over them. Serve warm or at room temperature.
