Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee using your favorite method. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix with Liqueur

If using, stir the coffee liqueur into the brewed coffee and set aside.

Making the Filling

  1. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Combine Mascarpone and Egg Yolks

In another bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolks until smooth and creamy.

  3. 5

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the cream.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x9 inch dish, layer half of the dipped ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 9

    Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 10

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.

  3. 11

    Serve

Slice into squares and serve chilled, enjoying your homemade tiramisu!
