Preparation of Meat Sauce
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, for about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Preparation of Cheese Mixture
- 4
Mix Cheese Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
- 5
Cook Lasagna Noodles
Boil a large pot of salted water. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place three lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layering process: noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, ending with noodles on top.
- 7
Add Final Layer
Spread the remaining meat sauce over the top layer of noodles. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the meat sauce.
Baking
- 8
Bake the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
