Prepare the Nut Mixture
In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Assemble the Baklava
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter. Spread a thin layer of the walnut mixture over the top. Repeat layering 4 more times, alternating with the walnut mixture and phyllo sheets, finishing with 10 layers of phyllo dough on top.

Cut the Baklava
Using a sharp knife, cut the assembled baklava into diamond or square shapes.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the baklava is golden brown.

Finish the Baklava
Once the baklava is finished baking, immediately pour the syrup over the hot baklava. Allow it to soak for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
