Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Add 2 large eggs to the dough one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.

  4. 4

    Prepare Oil for Frying

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough into the hot oil.

  2. 6

    Fry Until Golden Brown

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. You may need to fry them in batches to avoid overcrowding.

  3. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Once golden brown, remove the churros from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 8

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
