Method

Beef Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the beef steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil over each steak. Sprinkle both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Let the steaks marinate for about 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare (adjust time according to your preferred doneness). Flip the steaks.

  4. 4

    Add Butter and Herbs

Once flipped, add butter and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the melted butter for additional flavor. Cook for another 4-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.

Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes (if desired) and cut them into thin strips, resembling fries.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil and salt until evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and serve alongside the rested steak.
