Steak Caesar Salad

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Parmesan Crisps

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Make Crisps

Place small mounds of grated Parmesan cheese (about 1 tablespoon) on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart. Flatten each mound slightly.

  3. 3

    Bake Crisps

Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden. Remove from oven and let cool. They will harden as they cool.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  5. 5

    Sear the Steak

Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Salad

While the steak is resting, wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  8. 8

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce with the Caesar dressing and toss until well coated.

  9. 9

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

  10. 10

    Serve

Top the dressed romaine lettuce with sliced steak, shaved Parmesan, and serve with Parmesan crisps. Garnish with lemon wedges on the side.
