Method
Bread Pudding
Prepare Donuts
Cut the Southern Maid Donuts into small cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
Pour the milk mixture over the donut cubes in the baking dish, ensuring that all donuts are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the pudding for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
SoCo Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the Southern Comfort liqueur, brown sugar, and butter. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.
Add Vanilla
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Mix Base
In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved.
Chill Mixture
Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour or until well chilled.
Churn Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze
Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
