Ingredients for Grilled Cheese on Bun

Method

Directions for Grilled Cheese on Bun

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the potatoes into thin strips to make fries. In a bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  2. 2

    Bake the Fries

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Grilled Cheese

While the fries are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each bread bun. Place one bun butter-side down in the skillet.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Layer two slices of cheddar cheese on the bun in the skillet. Top with the second bun, butter-side up.

  5. 5

    Cook the Sandwich

Cook until the bottom bun is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the fries are done and the grilled cheese is cooked, serve the grilled cheese on a plate alongside the fries.
