Quesa-Dita

Method

Quesa-Dita Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and cumin. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary and set aside.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Quesa-Dita

On one half of each flour tortilla, sprinkle about 1/2 cup of shredded cheese. Add a spoonful of the cooked ground beef on top of the cheese. Fold the tortilla in half to create a half-moon shape.

  3. 3

    Cook the Quesa-Dita

In the same skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the folded tortillas one at a time and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Add more oil if necessary.

  4. 4

    Slice and Serve

Once cooked, remove the quesadilla from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice into wedges. Serve immediately.

Rice Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine the long-grain white rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. 6

    Fluff and Serve

Remove from heat, let it sit covered for 5 minutes, then fluff the rice with a fork before serving alongside the quesadilla.
