Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Dice the Tomatoes

Wash the Roma tomatoes, remove the seeds, and dice them into small cubes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Basil

Wash the fresh basil leaves, pat them dry, and chop them roughly.

  3. 3

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely.

  4. 4

    Mix the Topping

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and set aside to let the flavors meld.

Preparation of Bread

  1. 5

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal to create more surface area for toasting.

  2. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each baguette slice with olive oil to ensure a crispy texture when grilled.

  3. 7

    Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the oiled baguette slices on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.

  2. 9

    Drizzle with Balsamic Reduction

Finish by drizzling a small amount of balsamic reduction over each bruschetta for added flavor.
