Salad Base

Caesar Dressing

Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Lettuce

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt. Shake off excess water and chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes until golden.

  3. 3

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, finely grate 0.5 cup of Parmesan cheese for the salad and set aside.

Make the Caesar Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of mayonnaise, minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  2. 5

    Add Parmesan to Dressing

Stir in 0.25 cup of grated Parmesan cheese into the dressing mixture and mix until well combined.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and 0.5 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Add Dressing

Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently until all ingredients are well coated.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while the salad is fresh and crisp, with extra grated Parmesan on top if desired.
