Cupcake Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and white vinegar until smooth.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fill Cupcake Liners
Scoop the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tray for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and unsalted butter together until smooth and creamy.

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined and fluffy.

Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost them generously with the cream cheese frosting using a spatula or piping bag.
