Method
Preparing the Fries
- 1
Cook the Fries
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the frozen French fries in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.
- 2
Fry Until Golden Brown
Fry the French fries for about 4-6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries and let them drain on paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper.
Assembling the Loaded Fries
- 3
Layer the Fries
Place the hot fries on a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spreading them out evenly.
- 4
Add Cheese and Bacon
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the fries, followed by the crumbled bacon.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Place the baking sheet in the oven under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
- 6
Top with Green Onions and Sour Cream
Remove the fries from the oven and immediately top with chopped green onions and a dollop of sour cream.
