Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that the cookies bake evenly.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

  3. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not over mix.

  4. 6

    Fold in Chocolate Chips

Using a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  1. 7

    Prepare Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. 8

    Scoop Dough

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie to allow for spreading.

  3. 9

    Bake Cookies

Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
