Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly golden.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheesy beef patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the cheeseburgers immediately while hot, with additional condiments on the side if desired.
