Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Begin by trimming the ends of the Brussels sprouts and removing any yellow or damaged leaves. Rinse them under cold water and then dry them with a clean towel.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat. Once cooled, chop the bacon into small pieces.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Brussels Sprouts
In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the Brussels sprouts. If there is too much bacon fat, you can drain some of it, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet. Add olive oil if necessary. Sauté the Brussels sprouts over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are browned and tender.
- 4
Season the Dish
Season the Brussels sprouts with salt and black pepper. Stir well to ensure they are evenly coated.
- 5
Combine with Bacon
Add the chopped bacon back into the skillet with the Brussels sprouts and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
