Method

Chips Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet, pour in the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain the Chips

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried chips and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa Preparation

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chop the fresh cilantro finely.

  2. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Seasoning

Pour the lime juice over the mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 8

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to your preference.
