Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Allow the ribs to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Slow Cooker

Set your slow cooker to low heat. This will ensure the ribs cook slowly and become tender.

Making BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and hot sauce until well combined.

  2. 4

    Set Aside

Reserve about half of the BBQ sauce for serving later. The other half will be used to coat the ribs.

Cooking Ribs

  1. 5

    Add Ribs to Slow Cooker

Place the seasoned ribs in the slow cooker, standing them up if necessary to fit. Pour the BBQ sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.

  2. 6

    Cook

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is pulling away from the bone.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Broil for Crispiness

Once the ribs are done in the slow cooker, preheat your oven's broiler. Carefully transfer the ribs to a baking sheet lined with foil. Brush the reserved BBQ sauce over the ribs.

  2. 8

    Broil

Broil the ribs for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and the ribs are crispy on the edges. Watch closely to avoid burning.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut between the bones and serve with the remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
