Method

Preparation of Chicken

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the chicken

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the chicken breasts ensuring they are evenly coated.

Making the Stout BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine sauce ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine stout beer, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Simmer the sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.

Cooking the Chicken

  1. 5

    Bake the chicken

Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour half of the stout BBQ sauce over the top. Reserve the other half for serving.

  2. 6

    Roast the chicken

Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

  3. 7

    Glaze with sauce

During the last 10 minutes of cooking, brush the chicken with additional BBQ sauce for extra flavor.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the chicken

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve with the remaining stout BBQ sauce on the side.
