Salmon Preparation

Cedar Plank Preparation

Method

Salmon Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse the salmon fillet under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Place it skin-side down on a clean cutting board.

  2. 2

    Season the Salmon

Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and rub it evenly across the surface. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme evenly over the fillet. Pour the IPA beer over the salmon, ensuring it's well-coated.

Cedar Plank Preparation

  1. 3

    Soak the Cedar Plank

In a bowl, submerge the cedar plank in water. Allow it to soak for at least 1 hour to avoid burning during cooking.

  2. 4

    Prepare for Roasting

After soaking, remove the cedar plank from the water and place it on a baking sheet. Position the seasoned salmon fillet on top of the plank.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Roast the Salmon

Place the cedar plank with the salmon in the preheated oven. Roast for about 20-25 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and has reached an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

  2. 6

    Serve

Carefully remove the cedar plank from the oven. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve directly from the cedar plank for a rustic presentation, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
