Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Topping Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a 12-inch circle.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce

Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese and Salami

Tear the fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute them evenly over the sauce. Layer the spicy salami slices on top.

  5. 9

    Drizzle Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the toppings and sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes according to your taste.

  6. 10

    Bake Pizza

Carefully slide the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 11

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves. Let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
