Pasta Preparation
1. Boil the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
2. Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander. Set aside.

3. Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
4. Cook Tomatoes
Add halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are soft and start to burst.
5. Combine Ingredients
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired sauce consistency is reached.
6. Serve
Serve the pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh basil if desired.
