Method

Brownie Base

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Ricotta Filling

  1. 7

    Prepare the Ricotta Filling

While the brownies are baking, prepare the ricotta filling. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  2. 8

    Cool the Brownies

Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool in the baking dish for about 10-15 minutes.

  3. 9

    Spread the Filling

After the brownies have cooled slightly, spread the ricotta filling evenly over the top of the brownies.

Chocolate Drizzle

  1. 10

    Prepare the Chocolate Drizzle

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

  2. 11

    Drizzle on Brownies

Using a spoon or a piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate over the ricotta-topped brownies.

  3. 12

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the brownies for at least 30 minutes to set the chocolate drizzle before slicing into squares and serving.
