Pizza Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Gradually add flour, salt, and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  2. 2

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to the highest setting (around 500°F or 260°C) and place a pizza stone inside if you have one.

  4. 4

    Shape the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal portions. On a floured surface, stretch each portion into a 10-12 inch round.

  5. 5

    Add Toppings

Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over each dough round. Tear the mozzarella into pieces and distribute evenly. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add fresh basil leaves.

  6. 6

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or a baking sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  7. 7

    Finish and Serve

Remove from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and let cool for a minute before slicing. Enjoy your Neapolitan-style pizza!
