Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Beef

Lay the flank steak flat on a cutting board. Use a meat mallet to pound it to about 1/2 inch thickness.

2

Season and Fill

Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper. In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, parsley, basil, and Parmesan cheese. Spread this mixture evenly over the steak.

3

Roll the Steak

Starting from one end, carefully roll the steak up tightly to form a log. Secure it with toothpicks or tie it with kitchen twine.

4

Sear the Braciola

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the rolled braciola and sear on all sides until browned, about 8-10 minutes.

5

Add Sauce Ingredients

Pour in the red wine and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.

6

Cook Slowly

Cover and let it cook on low heat for about 1.5 to 2 hours, turning occasionally, until the meat is tender.

7

Serve

Remove the toothpicks or twine, slice into rounds, and serve with the sauce spooned over the top.
