Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steaks with olive oil on both sides. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary. Allow the steaks to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to marinate.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated steaks on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even-sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick, to ensure they cook evenly.

  2. 4

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This will help achieve crispier fries.

  3. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  4. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean towel. Carefully add a few handfuls of potatoes to the hot oil, being cautious of splattering. Fry for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt immediately.

  5. 7

    Serve

Serve the grilled steak alongside the hot, crispy French fries. Enjoy!
