Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Start by finely chopping the beef tenderloin into small pieces. Ensure the meat is cold to make the chopping easier.
- 2
Chop the Shallots
Peel and finely chop the shallot. Set aside in a small bowl.
- 3
Prepare the Capers
Drain the capers if they are packed in brine and chop them roughly. Add them to the bowl with the shallots.
- 4
Mix the Beef Tartare
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped beef, shallots, capers, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with a fork until well combined.
- 5
Plate the Tartare
Using a ring mold or a small bowl, pack the beef mixture tightly at the center of a plate.
- 6
Add the Quail Egg
Carefully crack the quail egg and place the yolk on top of the beef tartare.
- 7
Garnish (Optional)
Finely chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the tartare for added flavor and color.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately with toasted bread or crackers on the side.
