Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Mix the Beef Patty Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently using your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the patty juicy.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a burger patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties
Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness.
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Prepare the Toppings
While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves, slice the tomato, and onion into rings.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns lightly if desired. Place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, and the top half of the bun.
