Method

Caramel Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar melts and turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.

  2. 2

    Add Butter

Once the sugar is melted, carefully add the unsalted butter. The mixture will bubble up; stir until combined.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Continue to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until smooth.

  4. 4

    Finish with Salt

Remove from heat and stir in the kosher salt. Allow to cool before using.

Cold Brew Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Coffee and Water

In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarse coffee grounds with the water. Stir well to ensure all grounds are saturated.

  2. 6

    Steep

Cover the jar or pitcher and let it steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours.

  3. 7

    Strain

After steeping, strain the coffee through a coffee filter or fine mesh sieve to remove the grounds. Store the cold brew in the refrigerator.

Drink Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a glass, combine the cold brew coffee and milk in a 1:1 ratio, adjusting to taste.

  2. 9

    Add Caramel

Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the cold brew and milk mixture.

  3. 10

    Garnish

Optionally, add a sprinkle of kosher salt on top for garnish.

  4. 11

    Serve

Stir gently to combine before enjoying your salted caramel cold brew.
