Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Take an Old Fashioned glass (or any short tumbler) and place it on a flat surface.

  2. 2

    Muddle Sugar and Bitters

Place the sugar cube in the glass and add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush the sugar cube until it dissolves into a paste.

  3. 3

    Add Bourbon

Pour 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey into the glass over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, preferably a large ice cube or sphere to minimize dilution.

  5. 5

    Stir

Using a bar spoon or regular spoon, gently stir the cocktail for about 20 seconds to combine the ingredients and chill the drink.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Take a twist of orange peel and express the oils over the top of the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a good twist. Then drop the peel into the glass as a garnish. Optionally, add a maraschino cherry on top for additional garnish.

  7. 7

    Serve

Your Old Fashioned cocktail is ready to be enjoyed. Serve immediately and sip responsibly.
