Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Mint and Sugar
In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently muddle the mint leaves with the sugar to release the mint oils. Be careful not to tear the leaves into small pieces.
- 2
Add Lime Juice
Pour the fresh lime juice into the glass with the muddled mint and sugar. Stir gently to combine the ingredients, allowing the sugar to dissolve.
- 3
Add Rum
Pour in the white rum and stir again to mix all the flavors together.
- 4
Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top, which will help chill the drink.
- 5
Top with Soda Water
Slowly pour the soda water over the ice until the glass is full. This will add a refreshing fizz to your mojito.
- 6
Garnish
Garnish your mojito with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint on top. This adds a nice visual appeal and enhances the aroma.
