Method
Preparation of Bread Pudding
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and bourbon until well combined.
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread and gently fold together until the bread is fully soaked. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
Prepare the Baking Dish
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter. Transfer the soaked bread mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Bake
Bake the bread pudding in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
Serve Warm
Once baked, remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
