Burger and Toppings

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mac & Cheese

Cook your favorite macaroni according to package instructions. Make a creamy cheese sauce by combining milk, butter, and shredded cheddar cheese in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Make the Smashburgers

Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over high heat. Divide the ground beef into two equal portions. Form them into balls and season with salt and pepper. Place the balls onto the hot skillet and smash them down using a spatula to form patties. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until a crust forms. Add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer the creamy mac & cheese, followed by the double smash patties, crispy bacon, fried onions, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
