Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks and generously season both sides with salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks into the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a golden crust forms.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks and add crushed garlic cloves and a sprig of fresh rosemary to the pan. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, spooning the oil over the steaks.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the skillet and allow them to rest on a plate, tented with foil, for about 5-10 minutes.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with a potato masher until smooth.

  3. 8

    Add Ingredients

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir until well combined and creamy.
