Toppings

Method

Pulled Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture onto the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder into a slow cooker. Pour apple cider vinegar over the pork. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix in 1 cup of BBQ sauce and set aside.

Mac & Cheese

  1. 4

    Cook the Macaroni

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.

  4. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

In a serving dish, layer the mac & cheese, topped with the pulled pork mixture. Add crispy onion strings on top and drizzle with additional BBQ sauce before serving.
