Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into two patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Beer Cheese Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Beer Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, beer, garlic powder, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat.

Cajun Onion Strings Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the onion into thin rings and soak them in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Coat the Onion Rings

In a bowl, mix flour and Cajun seasoning. Remove the onions from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture.

  3. 7

    Fry the Onion Strings

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Assemble

On the bottom half of each pretzel bun, place a cheeseburger patty, top with crispy bacon, drizzle with beer cheese sauce, and finish with a handful of Cajun onion strings. Place the top half of the pretzel bun on top and serve immediately.
