Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chorizo sausage, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and diced jalapeños. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and form each part into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach the desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are finishing, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Spread hot sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by a generous spoonful of pico de gallo.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
