Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. If breading, dip each breast in olive oil and coat with breadcrumbs.
- 2
Cook the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). If grilling, grill on medium-high heat for about 6-7 minutes per side.
Spinach Artichoke Spread Preparation
- 3
Cook the Spinach
In a skillet over medium heat, add the fresh spinach and sauté until wilted, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- 4
Blend the Spread
In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed spinach, artichoke hearts, cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the pretzel buns in half. On the bottom half, place a generous scoop of the spinach artichoke spread, followed by the cooked chicken breast, roasted red peppers, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the pretzel bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve the sandwiches warm with a side of your favorite chips or salad.
