Method

Preparation of Croutons

  1. 1

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread slices into cubes and place them in a bowl. Drizzle olive oil over the bread cubes, then add garlic powder and salt. Toss until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, stirring halfway through. Once done, remove and let cool.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Dressing

In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, garlic clove, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Salad Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Salad

Wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh, and slice.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce and sliced avocado. Drizzle with the prepared Caesar dressing and toss until the lettuce is well coated.

  3. 6

    Add Croutons

Add the cooled croutons to the salad and toss gently to combine.

  4. 7

    Add Optional Protein

If using, slice the cooked chicken breast or salmon fillet and place on top of the salad.
