Method
Preparation
- 1
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the oil is at the correct temperature for frying.
- 4
Fry the Potatoes
Remove the potatoes from the water and dry them thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel. Carefully add a handful of potato strips to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5
Season and Serve
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
