Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Season the beef roast with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat a little oil over medium-high heat and sear the beef on all sides until browned.

  2. 2

    Add Ingredients to Cook

Once the beef is browned, remove it from the skillet. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened. Then return the beef to the skillet, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and pepperoncini peppers.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Beef

Cover and cook the beef on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.

  4. 4

    Shred the Beef

Remove the beef from the pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the pot to soak up the juices.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice the French rolls and place them under the broiler for a few minutes to toast lightly. Then fill each roll with the shredded beef and top with cheese slices.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the sandwiches with a side of au jus made from the cooking liquid, and enjoy with chips and a kosher dill pickle.
