1. Prepare the Shrimp
Peel and devein the jumbo shrimp, leaving the tails on. Pat them dry with paper towels.
2. Set Up Breading Station
Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; one with beaten eggs; and one with breadcrumbs.
3. Bread the Shrimp
Dip each shrimp first in the flour mixture, then in the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each shrimp is evenly coated.
4. Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
6. Drain and Serve
Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with cocktail sauce and your choice of fries, cottage cheese, macaroni salad, or coleslaw.
