Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with a small amount of butter if desired.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Serve

Remove pancakes from the skillet and keep warm while you cook the remaining batter. Serve the pancakes warm with a pat of butter and drizzle with maple syrup.
