Method
Preparing the Patty
- 1
Forming the Patty
Take 0.33 lbs of fresh ground beef and gently form it into a round patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.
- 2
Cooking the Patty
Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Place the patty on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and immediately place a slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) and the cheese is melted.
Preparing the Toppings
- 3
Preparing the Vegetables
Wash and dry one leaf of lettuce and slice two tomatoes into even slices.
- 4
Spreading the Mayonnaise
Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly on the bottom half of the burger bun.
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Building the Cheeseburger
Once the patty is cooked, place it on the mayonnaise-covered bun. Layer the lettuce leaf and tomato slices on top of the patty. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun.
