Pork Ribs
Sticky Rice
Everything Spice
Method
Preparing the Pork Ribs
Marinate the Ribs
In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Mix well to create the marinade.
Add Ribs
Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Bake the Ribs
Place the marinated ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours, basting with the marinade every 30 minutes.
Broil for Glaze
After baking, switch the oven to broil. Broil the ribs for 5-10 minutes until they are sticky and caramelized, watching closely to avoid burning.
Preparing the Sticky Rice
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
Soak the Rice
Soak the rinsed rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
Cook the Sticky Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth. Steam over boiling water for about 30 minutes, or until tender.
Making Everything Spice
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black sesame seeds.
Serving
Serve the Dish
Slice the ribs into portions and serve them over a bed of sticky rice, garnished with everything spice on top.
