Method
Preparing Chicken Wings
- 1
Clean and Season Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, season the wings with salt and black pepper. Mix well to ensure all wings are evenly coated.
- 2
Coat with Flour
Place the all-purpose flour in a separate bowl. Dredge the seasoned chicken wings in the flour until fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
Frying Chicken Wings
- 3
Heat Oil
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 4
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the coated chicken wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove wings and drain on paper towels.
Making Garlic Chili Sauce
- 5
Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- 6
Crispy Basil
- 7
Fry the Basil
In a separate small saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the fresh basil leaves and fry for about 30 seconds or until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serving
- 8
