Prepare the Green Chiles
Roast the Hatch green chiles over an open flame or in the oven until the skins are charred. Let them cool, then peel off the skins and remove the seeds. Chop the chiles and set aside.

Form the Patty
In a bowl, combine the ground Angus beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into a patty approximately 1/2-inch thick.

Add the Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place the slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger
Once the patty is cooked and the cheese has melted, place the patty on the toasted bun. Top with the roasted green chiles and cover with the top half of the bun.
