Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Green Chiles

Roast the Hatch green chiles over an open flame or in the oven until the skins are charred. Let them cool, then peel off the skins and remove the seeds. Chop the chiles and set aside.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

In a bowl, combine the ground Angus beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into a patty approximately 1/2-inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the burger patty and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place the slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty to melt.

  5. 5

    Toast the Bun

While the cheese is melting, toast the burger bun in a separate pan or on the grill until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Once the patty is cooked and the cheese has melted, place the patty on the toasted bun. Top with the roasted green chiles and cover with the top half of the bun.
